Oscars are corrupt. They are a purely business scheme and do not actually state the most watchable, enjoyable, impactful or even forward-thinking film out there. If you want a better idea for the best movie of the year, wait a few years and see which ones left a true impact. I'd say Infinity War and Into the Spider-Verse were the hard hitters, making it a good year for superheroes as not just a genre, but a mediumfor all kinds of storytelling (With Logan being a western). Do tell me your predictions.

Its not surprise to anyone who watches Oscars for years. Its the biggest circle jerk Hollywood does every year. Of course something that is basically branded as "movie for black people" is gonna be there so they can pat themselves in the back and say "See, we are progressive, fuck Trump".

The only solution is to introduce the new, Wakanda award where only black movies and black actors can get nominated in every category and make it so that half of the awards have to go to blacks to achieve the magical 50/50 holly grail of a ratio that somehow exists even though blacks in that country are only 13% of the population.

The trouble is that so many racist morons went into full-on autistic screech mode when BP was released that left wingers started falling all over themselves to defend it. And now we have a film nominated for the oscar that clearly isn't worthy, but if you criticise it you're immediately thrown in with the opposing camp. This dumb partisan divide is bleeding into every facet of life.

These will be the narrative of racist that don't even mention how Bohemian Rhapsody also shouldn't even be in that category. I also don't think BP belongs there but I think so because the special effects weren't the best, the lead gave a bland performance that was eclipsed by the villain and the supporting cast. The script wasn't tight and had many inconsistencies and the movie was just a bit longer than it should have. If you're gonna criticize it at least argument why because it really shows that the only reason you think it's not Best Picture material is because "there's Black people in it". It had a lot going on for it specially in the costume and production design categories and because of the popularity I can see why it landed the nod.

I actually enjoyed the movie, and when it comes to best picture, I think it was better than all of the MCU movies. Also, acting was good and villain was one of the best MCU ones. But... best movie ? Like, wtf ?
